The Power of Storytelling: Cluj Edition

The Power of Storytelling is a conference built around the idea that stories can change our worlds.

The only one of its kind in Eastern Europe, it brings together superstar storytellers in all fields – from media, to arts, to business – to show the potential of stories to connect people, to heal wounds, to move to action, and to drive change.

We started this conference because we believe stories are for everyone. This event grows out of our deep commitment to in-depth and intimate narrative journalism, and attracts writers, producers, artists, communicators, marketers, activists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

After four succesful editions in Bucharest, the conference premieres for an afternoon in Cluj. It will take place October 23, starting at 18:00, at FSPAC (Facultatea de Științe Politice Administrative și ale Comunicării), located at 71 Traian Moșoiu, Cluj (View map in a new window).

A fost odată… *

The Writing Process

All writers, photographers, designers, etc., in their own fashion, go through key steps in developing any story. The process may look different in the hands of different people, but it holds constant at core, and applies to everything from a quick daily turn to a book-length project.

In this talk, Jacqui Banaszynski will demystify the writing process and analyze each of the necessary steps. Understanding them allows creators to identify their particular strengths and, conversely, to identify the steps of the process where they are weaker or get tripped up, and to find tools to improve in those areas.
